Playing Hooky To Walk Into The Future

I made my son miss school today. We happily played hooky in order to attend the presidential inauguration viewing at City Hall. We marched across a frozen, quiet and still snowy Brooklyn Bridge, entered Manhattan, and jogged up the stairs to enter City Hall. A large screen was set up in the legislative chamber and the event was broadcast to a mostly youthful, partisan and wildly, enthusiastic, New York crowd.
